What are Susan's campaign issues? Social justice and civil rights (Raising the bar for living wages, women’s equality, minority and gay rights, addressing poverty and domestic violence, rehabilitative justice to decrease recidivism, affordable housing, support for social services.) Economic vitality in a progressive, sustainable community (Promoting a healthy balance of good-paying job creation and retention that is mindful of our fragile environment and shrinking natural resources. Respect for both can lead to smarter development, green building design, more efficient transportation systems and innovative business ventures.) Development of Bloomington’s strong arts community and culture diversity. (Firming up the details of BEAD, Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District… because community events and attractions contribute to the economic vitality and quality of life in Bloomington. I care about these and many other issues, including public safety, adequate infrastructure for public works and utilities, thriving neighborhoods, and forward-thinking urban planning. I am eager to contribute to all issues that come before the Council in the coming year and beyond.
